Luque |
 |
Luque is an affluent town that is just adjacent to La Subbetica Natural Park. This quaint community is nestled on top of a stony outgrowth and is made prominent by a fortress. This place was once deemed as an underprivileged Spanish town. Nevertheless, it has made its way into development. In fact, a large portion of the old Lucena has been broken down to make way for new apartments, chic boutiques and modern bars.
There is a castle located here that was constructed centuries ago during the Moorish times and is surely worth a visit. Another interesting sight to see is the outstanding granite frontage of the La Asunci Gothic-Renaissance Church. In the vicinity, you will find several olive orchards and vineyards as well.
